It is my belief that homework is meant to strengthen the subject skills learned. I also believe that it instills in each student a personal responsibility to continue as they mature in life.
If a student is absent, it is his/her responsibility to gather the missed notes and complete the assignments. Ample time will be given to your child to complete any missed work. Always feel free to contact me with questions or concerns.
first missing assignment- a verbal warning to the student
second missing assignment- a written warning is sent home
third missing assignment- a detention will be issued
With regards to grading, I drop the lowest quiz grade and the lowest homework grade each term. I NEVER drop a test grade. The students are given ample time and notice regarding quizzes and tests. Notices are also posted on each subject website. I require failing tests to be signed by a parent/guardian. I will also accept a note from you stating that you are aware of your child's test grade if the test is either " lost or misplaced".
